My client a significant player in the logistics, freight forwarding, shipping industry is looking to recruit an experienced Office Manager to oversea day to day office activities and manage a team of staff. Crucial to this position is previous experience managing shipping administrative staff within the shipping, freight forwarding, logistics industry.
Job Description
This role will report to the Branch Manager and will be responsible for managing staff performance on-site. Ensuring customers are kept informed of the operational activity and that processes are followed, improvements are made, budgets are managed for internal procurement. Responsibility is taken for the office in terms of daily operational performance when the Branch Manager is travelling.
Skills/Experience
- Minimum of 2 years Office Management within a Shipping, Freight Forwarding or Logistics company. We are looking for a candidate coming from an Agency who is well rounded in their freight forwarding knowledge and experience.
- Must have strong knowledge of shipping Administration by Air, Road, Sea. Either Import / Export or both
- You will have a strong understanding of Airway Bills, Bills of Lading, Customs Clearance and other documentation used in import, export
- Previous experience in people management
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure to strict deadlines
- Strong MS Office skills
- Self-motivated, results driven, ability to gain respect and work well in a team environment
- Ability to get results from staff and motivate them to achieve
- Positive, energetic and approachable
- Commercially aware. Proven ability to cut costs and meet office budgets
